Nikon has announced what may promise to be the ultimate bowhunter's rangefinder for 2008. With the help of Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo of Archer's Choice television fame, Nikon designed the rangefinder from the ground up specifically for real-world bowhunting situations. The NIKON Archer's Choice Bowhunting Rangefinder (8366) combines Nikon’s trademark speed, accuracy and simplicity with technology designed to give hunters the confidence to take the shot.
Nikon’s advanced ID Technology compensates for various incline or decline shooting angles - up to ±89-degrees of angle, which allows bowhunters to range targets from a treestand or in steep terrain with the same confidence and ease as ranging over flat ground-simply aim, push the button and plan your shot according to the displayed distance. Only one number is displayed, the correct distance needed to make the shot.
According to Jon LaCorte, Senior Product Marketing Manager for Nikon, "Ralph and Vicki are experts in bowhunting. We wanted them to design a rangefinder to do the things that bowhunters, in particular, need it to do. It’s fast, accurate, compact, ergonomic, waterproof / fogproof - and above all, it helps take the guesswork out of bowhunting."
The Nikon Bowhunting Rangefinder features Nikon's legendary multicoated optics, waterproof/fogproof ruggedness and pocket-sized portability. A Silent Technology neoprene case in RealTree APG camo for the ultimate in stealth bowhunting is also included.
